MYTHIC SUNSHIP AND KUNGENS IN HELSINKI NEXT YEAR The Danish Mythic Sunship will perform at Helsinki's Sixth Line Club on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. The band, which has risen to the ranks of Europe's most prestigious modern psychedelic rock music, has garnered attention with its unique sound. The second performer of the evening will be the Swedish line-up Kungens Män. Gig tickets will go on sale at Tiketti on Monday, June 7th. Releasing five albums during his career, Mythic Sunship was born in Copenhagen in 2013. “Another Shape Of Psychedelic Music,” released in 2018, spurred the band to perform at the legendary Roadburn Festival in as many as three gigs. With their intense gigs, the captivating Mythic Sunship draws from its fuzzy space rock, 70s cosmic German music and free jazz improvisation. Maybe the band's music has crept into the music from time to time, even from an afrobeat. With their latest, fifth studio album, “Wildfire,” (2021), Mythic Sunship has embarked on an increasing break with the creations created by his previous albums and is looking for unprecedented approaches to his music. Recorded in just four intense days, the album contains not only the groovy rock characteristic of the band, but even deeper into the origins of wild and free expression. The album is the band's first for the renowned Tee Pee label (e.g. Earthless, Graveyard, Nebula). Another high-rise psych rock band, the Swedish Kungens Män, will also take the stage on the evening of Helsinki in May. The free-form music of the six-piece band draws inspiration from krautrock, shoegaze, noiserock and free jazz. The band’s latest album, “Den Nya Skivan,” which has released more than 30 recordings over seven years, was released in February.
